Jackie Hayter graduated from the Royal Academy of music in 2003 with a undergraduate degree continuing her studies with a postgraduate diploma at The Royal College of Music. Prior to this Jackie studied at Chethams school of Music.

Jackie now enjoys a varied and busy musical career, playing Bassoon and Contra Bassoon with Orchestra’s including The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales and The RTE National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland. Jackie has been awarded trials with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra.

Jackie combines freelance orchestral work and chamber music, playing with various ensembles around the UK and abroad. She is very involved with education work including teaching for Southwark Music Service and tutoring the Bombay Chamber Orchestra.
